The entrance of the Jauk, a Balinese demon, was preceded by an overwhelming silence as the gamelan orchestra suddenly ceased to play and the only sounds were those of the sounds of the Jauk's stealthy movements in the courtyard, which managed to unleash some psychological fear from the audience.
