Sunset at Urquhart Castle, Inverness, Scotland

Nikon D4s c. December 2014

The sun set early in the cold and windy winter. I had just descended from the top of the castle, through the narrow stony staircase, fingers numb from the frosty cold. A new batch of tourists arrived through the castle gate, ascending to the top of the watergate, capturing images of the castle under the dying rays of sunlight. While they were enthralled by the magnificence of the castle ruins, I was enthralled by the sun shining just above the watergate and through the legs of a tourist.
