Taiping Lakes

Nikon D3s c. June 2010
In 1963, I was by the lake as a child, fascinated by the crooked bridge over the lake. Over the years, I have taken many shots using different cameras and at different angles and at different times and still, the place beckons for more. Kudos to Colonel Sandilands Frowd Walker and Charles Compton Reade who designed and tranformed a mining site in 1880 into the Lake Gardens. Taiping needs more people like Sandilands and Charles before all the historical sites in the small town are violated and destroyed by apathetic local bureaucrats in the town council who have no regard for beauty and historical legacy. For more info, read the history of the Taiping Lake Gardens at Wikipedia.
