To render as is, is photojournalism. To render as in the mind, is art or the approximation of it, since the appreciation of art is subjective. Both are subjective, after all, the image is a mere consolidation of coloured pixels arranged in such a way as to suggest to the reader's brain that this is an image of the real thing. The image is therefore a suggestion within that context and therefore, based on pixels, is not real.
